ABOUT MOHAMED KAZAFY Kazafy’s aspirations of becoming a dancer materialised when as a young boy he began to study dance under stage and screen legends Mahmoud Reda and Farida Fahmy. Mahmoud Reda, considered the Fred Astaire of Egyptian cinema formed the world famous Reda Troupe over 50 years ago along with Farida Fahmy, the elegant female lead soloist. Both dancers became household names in all of the Middle East when their talents were utilised in popular films. The troupe have performed in more than 50 countries worldwide to much acclaim. Reda and Fahmy were decorated for their contribution to the arts by King Hussein of Jordan, President Gamal Abdul Nasser of Egypt and President Burguiba of Tunisia. Egypt’s much loved and respected troupe has become synonymous with quality and innovation. Reda’s vision has elevated Egyptian dance through study, preservation and unique presentation in a theatrical setting. To this day the Reda technique and methodology is used as a basis and model for dancers worldwide and has produced the new generation of star performers. Mohamed Kazafy is one of those stars. He is now one of the world’s most talented dancers and choreographers; a master teacher in his own right with immense experience and an eye for elegance and strong technique . He is in strong demand internationally and spends the entire year touring the globe. His master classes draw an astonishing amount of students and his theatrical showcases are attended by the Middle Eastern diaspora and dignitaries in every city of the world. |
